AI has become a strategic asset for economic productivity, sustainable development, geopolitical influence and military capabilities worldwide. The Netherlands鈥� international AI strategy sets out how we navigate this new reality.

The strategy aims to strengthen Dutch and European competitiveness and strategic autonomy by building on our strengths, such as our world-class semiconductor industry, which gives us a unique position in the global AI supply chain. AI creates both new opportunities and new risks. This strategy protects and promotes democratic values and human rights worldwide, enabling safe and responsible AI development and deployment from Europe to Asia.

We can only achieve this through international partnerships and coalitions of countries, technical communities, civil society and the private sector that share these objectives.
