We are very pleased to announce the WISE (Interactive) Network Talk by Dr. Jennifer van den Berg:

Academia trains us to think 鈥� to be rational, objective, and composed. Yet we never leave our humanity at the door. Doubt, shame, uncertainty and vulnerability travel with us, even though academic culture rarely invites us to show those parts of ourselves.

This afternoon, we will meet those authentic, vulnerable sides.
This isn鈥檛 a talk about me or just about research 鈥� it鈥檚 about you.
Who are you? What do you hide? What do you doubt?

Together, we鈥檒l create a safe space to share, connect and learn 鈥� not just as academics, but as human beings. And maybe you鈥檒l discover you鈥檙e not alone. That the parts you鈥檝e tried to hide are actually sources of strength, connection and authenticity.

Join us for an inspiring afternoon in which Jennifer reveals academic and personal insights, mixed up with interactive, small group sessions in which we are going to touch upon our own experience with safety and vulnerability.

BIO: Dr. Jennifer van den Berg, or Dr. Jenny is a researcher, writer and advocate for authenticity in academia. She combines her PhD expertise in psychological safety, collaboration and decision making with a deeply human approach: embracing doubt, vulnerability and imperfection as sources of strength.

She鈥檚 known for constructive honesty, asking the questions others leave unspoken, and creating safe spaces where people in academia can show up as their full selves. Her mission is simple: empower people and organizations to grow by bringing both courage and vulnerability to the table.
