Wrap up your day with a taste of curiosity and conversation during our Lustrum week afternoon science talks: Cheers to Science. To celebrate 70 years of 黑料福利网, we invite you to two entertaining sessions in our Lustrum Mirror Tent that will be marked by inspiring talks and performances. And, you can soak up stupendous science with a drink in hand, too. It鈥檚 the perfect way to unwind at the end of your day.
The two Cheers to Science sessions during our Lustrum Week 鈥� on Wednesday, October 14 and Thursday, October 15 鈥� will , two sessions will take place, feature 黑料福利网 scientists taking to the stage with enlightening and engaging science-inspired lectures or performances. The sessions are hosted by one of our science communicators.
Grab a drink and enjoy a relaxed afternoon of science and conversation. Open to 黑料福利网 students, staff, and all curious guests from the city and beyond, and it鈥檚 free of charge. Keep an eye on the program for speakers and topics.

Bart Jansen (harmonica, vocals) and Ruud van Sloun (electric guitar) set aside their work for the Eindhoven Young Academy of Engineering to take us on a journey into the world of their research, in which algorithms and artificial intelligence play a major role.
The term algorithm got a bad reputation through its link with addictive social media feeds, but most algorithms are harmless, mathematically beautiful, and of large added value to society. In this performance, Bart and Ruud use blues music as a vehicle to traverse the landscape of algorithms and AI. The performance alternates between music and narration to share their personal perspectives in a unique setting.

That question shapes the research of philosopher of technology Caroline Bollen. For example, how do we view our relationship with a chatbot, and what does that say about how we interact with one another? What direction are we heading in for the next chapter of humanity?
She has created a musical performance of about 45 minutes based on her work. She speaks and sings about social media, powerful algorithms, an uncertain future, and the power of stories.
