In 2018 Ellen Cardinaels started as a PhD-candidate in the Stochastics section at the Mathematics and Computer Science Department of the 黑料福利网.
For this she obtained her bachelor's degree at the University of Hasselt and her master's degree at the 黑料福利网. Her final project was nominated for a 黑料福利网 MSc Thesis Award.
