For the many students, alumni, partners, and staff who are part of the URE story, the unveiling of the twentieth model was not just the presentation of a new race car, but a special milestone for the oldest student team at 黑料福利网. 鈥淲e are extremely proud that, with this team, we have designed and built the twentieth URE race car,鈥� says URE team manager Bram van der Sar.

Countless hours

Over the past two decades, hundreds of students have dedicated countless hours to designing, producing, testing, and improving URE鈥檚 race cars. Alumni have gone on to work at leading technology companies, automotive manufacturers, engineering firms, and motorsport organizations around the world. Many have remained involved as mentors, advisors, sponsors, or supporters.

More efficient

Visitors at Stadhuisplein saw not only a car that is lighter and faster than its predecessor, but also more efficient. This is partly due to a lighter, self-developed motor controller. This system determines how much power is sent to the motor and how fast the car drives, ensuring optimal motor performance. In addition, a redesigned autonomous system further improves the car鈥檚 autonomous racing capabilities.

With these changes, URE hopes to perform strongly in the international Formula Student competition, one of the world鈥檚 largest engineering design competitions. This year, URE will race in the Czech Republic and Germany. Last year, URE secured second place in the overall standings at the home race in Assen, out of 44 participating teams. This year, the Assen race is not on the calendar, as it will not take place due to budgetary reasons.
