The School of Medical Physics and Engineering Eindhoven marks twenty years of education and research with a network event bringing professionals together around healthcare and technology
The School of Medical Physics and Engineering Eindhoven (SMPE/e) is celebrating its twentieth anniversary as part of the Faculty of Industrial Engineering and Innovation Sciences. The school focuses on questions that arise where healthcare and technology meet, with attention to design, implementation and responsible use in clinical practice. Over the past two decades, SMPE e has grown into a place where researchers, healthcare professionals and technologists connect around shared challenges in healthcare.
Design matters
A key element of the school is the EngD program in Clinical Informatics. In this designer education program, participants work on concrete design challenges from healthcare practice. They develop digital solutions that align with the daily work of healthcare professionals and the context of patients and organizations. This design oriented approach connects technological expertise with insight into processes, decision making and human behavior in healthcare.
Come together
On June 19, this way of working comes together during the SMPE e Network Event at the TU Eindhoven Auditorium. The event creates room for inspiration, exchange and conversation between people who contribute to healthcare and technology from different roles. By combining stories from practice with moments of interaction, the event shows how collaboration develops and where new connections can emerge.
Shared perspective
The network event is relevant for anyone involved in innovation in healthcare, from clinical professionals to researchers and from developers to policymakers. The program demonstrates how technological developments gain value when they are designed in close connection with healthcare processes and everyday practice. This shared perspective on the future is central to the event.
