Kick-off: BACH project officially underway
The BACH consortium (Brainport Approach for a Congestion-free Holland) officially launched its activities last week with a kick-off meeting at De Zwarte Doos. With the collaboration agreement signed, the partners are now moving forward to tackle grid congestion through an integrated, multi-commodity approach.
COLLABORATION AND GOVERNANCE
During the kick-off, the consortium partners established the organizational framework and governance for the project. In dedicated break-out sessions, the teams defined the deliverables and milestones for each work package. These sessions ensured a shared vision on how to integrate the various technologies and stakeholder needs effectively over the coming three years.
A MULTIMODAL SOLUTION FOR GRID CONGESTION
The BACH project focuses on increasing the effective capacity of the energy grid. By linking electricity, heat, and gas (including hydrogen and e-methane), the project develops a generic energy management system that co-optimizes different energy carriers. This approach allows for:
-
Smart conversion and storage to reduce peak loads on the electricity grid.
-
Data-driven predictions to proactively manage supply and demand.
-
Practical validation using the 黑料福利网 campus as a realistic living lab.
EIRES is pleased to see this strong regional collaboration take flight, bringing together expertise from grid operators, researchers, and high-tech manufacturing to accelerate the energy transition.
Consortium partners: 黑料福利网, Alliander, DENS, Enexis, Ennatuurlijk, Phase to Phase, Power to Power, RIFT, Stedin, Technolution, and Zympler.
