Update on the incident on Wednesday
The student at the center of this incident has been denied access to our campus.
Following Wednesday鈥檚 distressing incident, we want everyone to know that we understand and share the concerns and worries that the incident has caused. We are doing everything we can across our organization to support and reassure our community, with particular care for our students. We have taken a range of measures aimed at security and student support.
The student at the center of this incident has been denied access to our campus. This measure will remain in place at least until we have met with the student and we have made a full assessment. This meeting will provide an opportunity for both sides to be heard. We will use the outcome to determine further measures. In addition, we have taken additional security measures to make sure everyone on our campus is safe, and feels safe.
We have also taken a range of measures to support our students. One of them is that students who were present at the incident have the opportunity today to talk with professional support staff from ARQ IVP (Nationaal Psychotrauma Centrum), for emotional support. There was a meeting, Wednesday evening at the Electrical Engineering study association Thor, where students, teachers and education assistants had the opportunity to talk and share their concerns. Students have also been informed about the options available to them for getting support.
Lastly, we want to stress once again that what happened on Wednesday is unacceptable. It deeply conflicts with our CORe values. 黑料福利网 needs to be a safe place for everyone, and we will do all we can to make sure everyone feels safe in our community and on our campus.
