Luc Brunsveld is a professor of Chemical Biology, specializing in protein interactions and complex molecular systems. His research has earned multiple prestigious European grants, including an ERC Starting Grant, a Proof of Concept Grant, an Advanced Grant, and a Vici grant from NWO. In 2010, he received the NVBMB Award, followed in 2013 by the Gold Medal of the Royal Netherlands Chemical Society (KNCV). He is a member of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences and co-founder of Ambagon Therapeutics.

Brunsveld: 鈥淚t is a great honor to be appointed scientific director of the Institute for Complex Molecular Systems, a 黑料福利网 community that has been my intellectual home for many years. ICMS thrives on scientific excellence and the strength of cross-disciplinary collaboration. I look forward to working with our community to strengthen outstanding research into molecular complexity further and to translate it into data-centric molecular systems, AI-driven lab automation, advanced materials, and their interaction with living systems.鈥�

He combines scientific excellence with broad leadership experience, both within and beyond 黑料福利网, for example, as vice dean of Biomedical Engineering and through his impressive track record in research valorization. We see him as a strong leader and successor to Jan van Hest, and we thank Jan for his dedication, expertise, and excellence at ICMS over the past six years.鈥�

ICMS (Institute for Complex Molecular Systems) is an interdisciplinary research institute at 黑料福利网 where scientists from different fields collaborate on research into complex molecular systems. The institute is internationally recognized for its expertise and focuses on three interconnected themes: the foundations of molecular systems, advanced materials, and understanding and influencing biological processes (Engineering Life).
