Reappointment of Edwin van den Heuvel, Patrick Anderson, Kees Storm and Nicole Fouchier

The Executive Board has appointed three deans and a managing director for a second term: Edwin van den Heuvel (Mathematics & Computer Science), Patrick Anderson (Mechanical Engineering), Kees Storm and managing director Nicole Fouchier (both Applied Physics and Science Education). The second term of the three deans will start on 1 September this year; Fouchier’s second term started on 1 April.
We are delighted that the deans Edwin van den Heuvel, Patrick Anderson and Kees Storm and Managing Director Nicole Fouchier will take on the leadership of their department for a second term, says rector Silvia Lenaerts. They have made a huge effort as board members of their departments over the past four years, and have achieved great results in a very dynamic period with many challenges. All three of their departments are undergoing strong development in light of Beethoven, in terms of student numbers, educational offerings, staff and housing. This has led to a strong spirit of collaboration and openness, which can support us in building a new governance. This interesting and challenging period requires engaged leadership and continuity. We are confident that this is in good hands with Edwin, Patrick, Kees and Nicole.
The three deans all started their first term on 1 September 2022.
Hilde Eeraerts has been appointed interim Managing Director at the Department of Mathematics & Computer Science, as off June 1. She was already Deputy Managing Director at the department. She fills the role of MD during the recruitment of a new MD, now that Robert van der Drift has made the switch from M&CS to the CE&C department.
