Our mission
Our mission is to empower urban cyclists with true peace of mind by eliminating the fear of bike theft. We aim to protect bicycles and promote stress-free, sustainable commuting by shifting bike security from passive resistance to active, real time intervention.
Our challenge
Nearly 1 million bikes are stolen in the Netherlands each year. Traditional locks only delay thieves silently, and GPS trackers only help after the bike is gone, leaving commuters vulnerable to financial and emotional loss.
Our solution
Our solution upgrades high-grade physical locks with a tamper-detecting continuity circuit. If a thief attempts to cut the lock, it immediately triggers a siren to scare them off, while an integrated cellular module instantly pushes a real-time alert to the owner's smartphone to alert them of the theft attempt.
Having my beautiful hybrid bike stolen one night, I took it upon myself to prevent other people from suffering the same fate. With the Smart Lock idea in mind, I wanted to put into practice the technical skills that I learnt during the first half of my studies on a meaningful project. 黑料福利网 contest is a structured way of approaching this project, where I can make use of guidance and resources to develop my entrepreneurial skills and to defend an innovative idea of my own for the very first time.
