Bobby Varocky

From Automotive Engineering to Logistics Leadership

For Bobby Johny Varocky, the Automotive Technology master's program at Eindhoven University of Technology opened far more doors than he could have imagined. What started as a passion for the automotive sector evolved into a career spanning research, software, logistics, and commercial leadership. Today, as Head of Sales for After-Sales Services at TGW Logistics, he draws on the multidisciplinary foundation he built at 黑料福利网 to help customers maximize the performance and lifecycle of automated logistics systems. 

Born in India and raised in Abu Dhabi, Bobby moved to the Netherlands in 2009 to pursue a master's degree in Automotive Technology, graduating in 2011. His decision to choose the program was driven by its unique multidisciplinary character. Unlike many traditional engineering programs, Automotive Technology combines mechanical engineering, electrical and electronics engineering, software, IT, chemical engineering, and human factors into a single curriculum. For Bobby, this broad approach reflected the reality of the modern automotive industry, where vehicles increasingly rely on the integration of mechanics, electronics, sensors, and software to deliver innovative solutions.

What made the program particularly distinctive was the combination of multidisciplinary learning, strong industry engagement, and an international student community. Working alongside classmates from different countries and backgrounds exposed Bobby to new perspectives and ways of thinking, while the university's close collaboration with industry provided valuable insights into real-world engineering challenges. Although no single course or project stands out above the others, he credits the overall experience, from coursework and assignments to interactions with professors and support from his thesis supervisor, with preparing him for a successful professional career. 

The impact of that broad education became clear throughout Bobby's career journey. After graduating, he worked as a research scientist specializing in tire and vehicle dynamics before moving into software licensing, training and adoption, third-party logistics, and eventually service sales within the intralogistics sector. This diverse career path was made possible by the flexibility and adaptability he gained during his master's studies. The program taught him how to connect knowledge across disciplines, approach challenges from a systems perspective, and effectively collaborate in multidisciplinary environments, skills that remain highly relevant in his current leadership role. 

Today, Bobby regularly works with technologies that span mechanical systems, robotics, software, IT infrastructure, battery technologies, and electrical and electronic components. The broad technical exposure he gained during the Automotive Technology master's program enables him to communicate effectively with specialists across these domains and bridge the gap between technical expertise and customer needs. Looking back, he sees the program as much more than an academic degree. It provided technical knowledge, practical experience, industry exposure, lifelong friendships, and the confidence to build a successful career across multiple industries. For Bobby, the Automotive Technology master's remains a truly multidisciplinary program that equips students with the skills needed to thrive in a rapidly evolving automotive industry.
