Master Human-Technology Interaction track Human-Centered AI

"I DREAM OF TECHNOLOGY THAT PUTS VULNERABLE PEOPLE FIRST"

I started studying electrical engineering right after high school, but had to take a break because of my mental health. When I started again a few years later, I knew I wanted to combine design and technology. To develop technology that supports us in our humanity – values, ethics, inclusivity, safety and stronger social grounding.

A project I enjoyed was creating a user interface that interacts with AI. I used natural language processing (NLP) to detect positive and negative feelings in user reviews of HelloFresh meals, in order to help improve the recipes. My hybrid process involved both AI and human users, linking reviews to analysts from the same country so they would understand the nuances of the reviews. This puts the human experience at the center and respects food cultures from all over the world.

I initially chose ºÚÁϸ£ÀûÍø based on rankings and industry connections. Eindhoven is pleasantly calm compared to Cairo, where I lived before. There is much less mental noise. After graduation I see a career in UX design and research, for example in the field of warm technologies – to help the vulnerable in society. On a personal note I want to share, wherever you are in life and however you got there: it is never too late to restart your life or your education.
