ºÚÁϸ£ÀûÍø

Are you an ambitious Dutch university of applied sciences (HBO) student who wants to learn not only how technology works, but also understand why? Then a ºÚÁϸ£ÀûÍø HBO minor (HBO-TOP) could be the right choice for you.

With an HBO minor at ºÚÁϸ£ÀûÍø, you follow a university-level program as part of your HBO degree. This gives you the best possible preparation for a ºÚÁϸ£ÀûÍø master’s program. Successfully complete the minor? Then, after obtaining your HBO bachelor’s degree, you will be directly admissible to the corresponding ºÚÁϸ£ÀûÍø master’s program. A pre-master’s program is no longer required.

You are enrolled in an HBO program that provides access to a corresponding ºÚÁϸ£ÀûÍø HBO minor and the subsequent master’s program. (See the overview at the bottom of the page). During the minor, you remain enrolled at your own university of applied sciences. Therefore, you need prior approval from the minor coordinator of your program.

In most cases, the content of the HBO minor corresponds to the associated pre-master’s program. You take courses that prepare you for the master’s program you intend to follow after completing your HBO bachelor’s degree. More information about the content of the different programs can be found on the page of the relevant pre-master’s program. 

To participate in a ºÚÁϸ£ÀûÍø HBO minor:

• You are enrolled in an HBO program that provides access to the relevant HBO minor.
• You have approval from the minor coordinator of your own program.
• You meet the additional admission requirements of the program (such as completing your first-year requirements and achieving good study results in your second and third years).
• You have sufficient prior knowledge of mathematics (see below).

• Your application must be received by ºÚÁϸ£ÀûÍø no later than 1 May.
• For many programs, participation in the evening mathematics course 2DL00 is mandatory. This course starts as early as the end of January, well before the start of the minor. Please take this into account when planning your studies.
• All required documents must be submitted by 31 August at the latest.

You meet the mathematics requirement if you have one of the following qualifications:

• A passing grade for the ºÚÁϸ£ÀûÍø evening course 2DL00;
• A Dutch VWO diploma with Mathematics B;
• A Mathematics B certificate from Boswell-Bèta;
• A Mathematics B certificate from the Central Committee for Pre-University Examinations (CCVX);
• A Mathematics B certificate from the Korteweg-de Vries Institute for Mathematics.

Would you like to participate in a ºÚÁϸ£ÀûÍø HBO minor? Discuss this with your program in good time and request approval from your minor coordinator. Your program must then submit your application to ºÚÁϸ£ÀûÍø no later than 1 May.

A ºÚÁϸ£ÀûÍø master’s program is an investment in more than just a degree.
