Degree structure
Over the course of two years and 120 ECTS credits, you build a strong foundation in cybersecurity and gradually develop expertise in specialized security domains.
You start with core courses in cryptology, cyberattacks, data protection, network security, and software security, complemented by a cybersecurity seminar.
You then tailor your program through cybersecurity electives and free electives, which can include courses from other disciplines, an international exchange, or an internship in industry or our real-life laboratories ESH-SOC and CTILab.
The program concludes with a master's project, where you apply your knowledge to an independent research or industry-based cybersecurity challenge.

Core Program
In the first year of your master's in Cybersecurity, you build a strong foundation in the field. You will examine the principles of data protection, explore cryptographic methods, analyze software vulnerabilities, and learn how to defend against cyberattacks. You will secure constrained networks by identifying vulnerabilities and adapting security protocols; you will practice your research skills by investigating a security topic as part of your seminar.

| Cryptology | 2MMC10 | Q1 |
| Software Security | 2DMI20 | Q2 |
| Cyberattacks Crime and Defenses | 2IMS20 | Q2 |
| Wireless IoT Security | 2IMS30 | Q3 |
| Seminar Cybersecurity | 2IMS00 | Q4 |
Alongside your technical development, you will grow as an individual and as a future professional. In the first year of your master鈥檚 journey, you will be part of SCOP/e, the Student Career Orientation Program. This unique program supports both your academic and professional development through helping you discover your professional identity and trainings on topics such as networking, personal branding, studying, scientific integrity, and entering the labor market.
SCOP/e will also help you identify your research interests and make well-informed decisions about your specialization, graduation project, and future career path.
You will also participate in the course Ethics of Digital Technologies, where you will reflect on your ethical responsibility as a cybersecurity engineer toward people, society, and the environment.

Other electives
You have the opportunity to personalize your program and broaden your academic perspective through your elective space. For 20 credits, you choose foundational, deepening, or specialization courses from the Master鈥檚 programs in Industrial and Applied Mathematics and/or Computer Science and Engineering.
You can further shape your profile with a 15 credits of free electives, giving you the freedom to choose courses from other 黑料福利网 departments, other universities in the Netherlands, or universities abroad.
This flexibility allows you to combine cybersecurity with other areas of interest or explore topics that complement your cybersecurity knowledge. For example, you can use your elective space to deepen your understanding of specific security-related topics or broaden your perspective with courses outside the field.
You can also use your electives space to do an internship in Cybersecurity. In addition to external internship opportunities, the cybersecurity program offers internships at both Eindhoven Security Hub and Cyber Threat Intelligence Lab (CTILab), where you can gain experience and insights on real, operational cybersecurity concepts, data and practice.
If you had some minor knowledge gaps in your previous education (up to 15 credits), you may be advised to use a part of your free elective space to take the missing courses, namely, the homologation courses.
Graduation project
The program concludes with a master鈥檚 graduation project, where you specialize in a specific cybersecurity topic and apply your knowledge in an independent research project. During this project, you will independently investigate a cybersecurity topic and demonstrate your ability to conduct research at master鈥檚 level.
Students have completed graduation projects with organizations including Brightsight, Secura, Compumatica, Deloitte, Forescout, Fox-IT, Fraunhofer SIT, IntrinsicID, Irdeto, Nedap, and NXP.
