Within the Master's program, you can tailor your education by choosing one or more dedicated specializations. Each specialization is fully integrated within the 120 ECTS Mechanical Engineering master's program and will be recognized on your diploma supplement upon completion. You may also choose to graduate without a specialization.
Materials for High-Tech Systems Design (MHS) prepares you to develop the advanced materials that enable the next generation of high-tech systems and products. This specialization combines materials science, mechanics, computational modelling, and manufacturing technologies to address engineering challenges in industries such as aerospace, automotive, semiconductors, and advanced manufacturing.
You will gain expertise in material behavior, structural optimization, damage detection, computational mechanics, and additive manufacturing, while learning to connect material properties with system performance. Through access to state-of-the-art facilities, including the Multiscale Lab, Mechanical Testing Lab, Polymer Processing Lab, and high-performance computing environments, you will combine experimental and computational approaches to design innovative and reliable solutions.
