Engineering Fluid Mechanics

Within the Master's program, you can tailor your education by choosing one or more dedicated specializations. Each specialization is fully integrated within the 120 ECTS Mechanical Engineering master's program and will be recognized on your diploma supplement upon completion. You may also choose to graduate without a specialization.

Engineering Fluid Mechanics (EFM) prepares you to understand, predict, and control fluid flow in a wide range of high-tech and sustainable applications. This specialization combines mechanical engineering, physics, thermodynamics, and transport phenomena to address challenges in areas such as aerospace, renewable energy, semiconductor manufacturing, and advanced material processing.

You will gain expertise in fluid dynamics, computational fluid dynamics (CFD), turbulence, heat transfer, and porous media flows, while learning to apply experimental, theoretical, and computational methods to complex engineering problems. Through access to specialized facilities such as the Darcy Lab, high-performance computing resources, and advanced simulation tools, you will develop the skills to design and optimize next-generation technologies. EFM prepares you for impactful careers in industry and research, enabling you to contribute to innovative and sustainable engineering solutions.
