Energy Conversion and Storage

Within the Master's program, you can tailor your education by choosing one or more dedicated specializations. Each specialization is fully integrated within the 120 ECTS Mechanical Engineering master's program and will be recognized on your diploma supplement upon completion. You may also choose to graduate without a specialization.

Energy Conversion and Storage (ECS) prepares you to tackle some of the biggest challenges of the energy transition by designing, optimizing, and innovating sustainable energy technologies. This specialization combines mechanical engineering, thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and physics to help create the energy systems needed for a carbon-neutral future.

You will gain expertise in energy conversion, energy storage, clean fuels, and advanced engine technologies, while learning to apply both computational and experimental methods to optimize system performance. Through access to state-of-the-art laboratories, simulation tools, and international research networks, you will develop solutions for sustainable mobility, industrial processes, and renewable energy systems. ECS prepares you for impactful careers in the energy sector, enabling you to drive innovation and contribute to a more sustainable and resilient energy future.
