Computational Engineering

Within the Master's program, you can tailor your education by choosing one or more dedicated specializations. Each specialization is fully integrated within the 120 ECTS Mechanical Engineering master's program and will be recognized on your diploma supplement upon completion. You may also choose to graduate without a specialization.

Computational Engineering (CE) prepares you to solve complex engineering challenges through modeling, simulation, data analysis, and computational methods. This specialization combines mechanical engineering, mathematics, and computer science, enabling you to virtually design, test, and optimize advanced systems before they are built.

You will gain expertise in mathematical modeling, numerical methods, simulation, optimization, digital twins, and algorithm development. Through access to state-of-the-art computing facilities and advanced simulation tools, you will learn to predict physical behavior, improve system performance, and develop data-driven engineering solutions. With specialization opportunities in Thermo-Fluids Engineering, Computational and Experimental Mechanics, and Dynamical Systems Design, CE prepares you for impactful careers in research and high-demand industries such as aerospace, energy, high-tech systems, biomedical engineering, and software development.
