Specializations

Specializations are packages of advanced electives organized around application-driven themes. The program offers several specializations that allow you to build on the core curriculum:  

  • Mathematics of AI and Machine Learning 
    Master the mathematics behind artificial intelligence and machine learning, including analysis, geometry, stochastics, and combinatorics.  
     
  • Network Mathematics 
    Shape the networks in transport, energy grids, supply chains, online platforms, and social networks. Use mathematical and algorithmic tools to analyze, predict, and design. 
     
  •  Mathematics and Computing for the Sciences 
    Model, simulate, and analyze natural and engineered systems using differential equations, geometry, numerical algorithms, computing, stochastic processes, and AI. 
     
  • Mathematics for Digital Technologies 
    Solve modern challenges in chip design, digital communications, and quantum technologies using discrete mathematics, algorithms, coding, cryptography, optimization, and graph theory. 

SPECIALIZATIONS:

The program Industrial and Applied Mathematics offers several specializations. You can pick a specialization once you started the program (so you do not need to make the decision when you apply).
