Explore our research and its impact

At 黑料福利网, we push embedded systems to become faster, smarter, more energy-efficient, and more dependable, designing them for the complex technologies of tomorrow. This means your work won鈥檛 stay in the lab but will contribute to society.

In the department of Mathematics and Computer Science, the Interconnected Resource-aware Intelligent Systems and Formal System Analysis (FSA) research clusters focuses on the performance challenges of embedded systems within three main domains:

  • Pervasive networking: Enabling devices and systems to communicate efficiently through edge networks, IoT, and interoperable technologies.
  • Pervasive computing: Processing and analysing data near its source using edge computing, machine learning, and embedded AI.
  • Predictable performance: Designing reliable, timely systems through real-time communication, scheduling, modelling, and verification.

In the department of Electrical Engineering, the Electronic systems research group aims to develop better ways to design high-quality embedded systems. This research group offers many of the courses in your curriculum and provides you with access to cutting edge laboratories.

Through the master embedded systems program, you are exposed to research-driven teaching and current developments in the field. Courses are informed by academic research and industry collaboration, ensuring that what you learn reflects real-world challenges and innovations.

You will also have opportunities to engage with a research project during your graduation phase, where you can contribute to academic work in collaboration with world-class academic supervisors from 黑料福利网 Departments of Computer Science or Electrical Engineering.

Embedded Systems is at the heart of Brainport Eindhoven, one of Europe鈥檚 leading high-tech innovation ecosystems. Close collaboration with universities, research institutes, and industry connects your education to real-world challenges and the latest developments in embedded technology.

Labs & Facilities

Every smart device begins with an idea to make the physical world respond intelligently. In the lab space, you bring that idea to life by combining hardware, software, sensors, and networks to design systems that can sense, compute, communicate, and act. It is a place to experiment, solve real-world challenges, and turn theoretical knowledge into working technology.

Nexus Lab

The Nexus Lab is an open and flexible space within the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science, where education, research, and real-world applications come together. As part of your coursework, you use the Nexus Lab to apply your knowledge and explore real-world challenges. As part of your graduation project, you can also use the Nexus Lab to investigate your research question and develop your analytical and research skills in a hands-on laboratory environment.

Collaborative ecosystem

Our researchers are in close collaboration with industry in and around the Brainport area, such as with ASML, NXP, Philips, Signify, Thermofischer Scientific, Cannon, Vanderlande and many others. These collaborations give rise to many graduation project assignments that take place in a company setting. Apart from the internal collaboration between the 黑料福利网 departments of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering, the master program is also in close collaboration with TU Delft and University of Twente within the context of 4TU federation.
