Do you have a passion for computing? We thought as much!
In the Master’s program in Computer Science and Engineering, you learn to lead the journey from possibility to reality. You develop both the scientific depth to understand technology and the engineering expertise to create it. Along the way, you will also examine the societal consequences of innovation, growing into a thoughtful and responsible computer scientist and engineer prepared to shape the technologies of tomorrow.
This two-year English-taught program combines strong academic training with hands-on experience in designing and analyzing complex software and computational systems. You learn how to build reliable, scalable, and efficient technologies, while also developing a critical understanding of their societal and ethical impact.
Rather than following a fixed track, you build your own profile within a structured curriculum. You start broadly across key areas of computer science and gradually specialize through advanced courses, electives and research projects.
Located in the Brainport Eindhoven region, Europe's leading high-tech innovation ecosystem, the program connects you directly to cutting-edge research and industry collaboration.
SPECIALIZATIONS:
The program Computer Science and Engineering offers several specializations. You can pick a specialization once you started the program (so you do not need to make the decision when you apply).
WHY THIS PROGRAM?
Focus on trustworthy and future-proof technology
Learn to design systems that are not only technically advanced, but also reliable, secure and that act socially responsibly.
Embedded in Europe’s high-tech innovation hub
Study in the Brainport region, home to global companies such as ASML, Signify and Philips, where research, startups and industry collaborate closely with ºÚÁϸ£ÀûÍø.
Structured freedom to shape your expertise
Build a profile that matches your interests. Become academically grounded through core courses while developing professional relevance through specializations and personal development opportunities.
Critical thinking and problem-solving as a lifelong asset
In an age where AI tools are everywhere, their value depends on the ability to critically assess their output. That is what sets our graduates apart. With a Computer Science degree, you don’t just learn techniques. You learn to reason about complex problems, evaluate solutions, and ensure their quality. These skills remain essential, no matter how technology evolves.
What will you learn?
The Master’s in Computer Science and Engineering trains you to understand, design and improve complex computational systems. The program combines theoretical foundations, software engineering skills, ethical awareness and research-oriented thinking to prepare you for both industry and academic careers.
You begin the program by developing a broad view of Computer Science and its applications. Depending on your interests and study path, you will learn to:
-
Design and analyze algorithms, while understanding computational complexity and the limits of efficient computation;
-
Engineer data-intensive and information systems that support the storage, processing, and use of complex data;
-
Model, verify, and reason about systems and business processes using formal methods;
-
Develop and evolve complex software-based systems, from design to long-term improvement;
-
Design and analyze distributed embedded systems that operate under resource constraints;
-
Create interactive visual representations that help users explore and interpret complex data.
You also develop your professional identity and acquire skills in critical reasoning, communication, ethics, multi-disciplinary collaboration and independent research. You can further shape your profile through electives, interdisciplinary courses, internships, and research projects in collaboration with ºÚÁϸ£ÀûÍø research groups and industry partners.
"I’m using automated methods to solve puzzles"
During my bachelor’s degree program, I got interested in embedded and security, so now I’m enjoying going into more depth about those topics...
