Master Kick-Off

Program

Dear prospective Master's student,

ºÚÁϸ£ÀûÍø is organizing a special Master Kick-Off for all new (pre-)Master’s students, both international and Dutch. During these introductory days, you'll get to know the Graduate School in a fun and interactive way and receive all the tools you need for a flying start to your Master's program. You'll discover both ºÚÁϸ£ÀûÍø and the innovative, technological environment of Eindhoven and the region. Additionally, you'll meet your fellow students right away and lay the foundation for new friendships. In short, the perfect start to an unforgettable Master's adventure!

The Master Kick-Off will take place from August 24 to 26, 2026.

Monday August 24th

On Monday, the day will start with the Mix & Mingle activity where you can get to know your new fellow students. In the afternoon you will visit an interesting company, which can serve as a good way to already connect and to find an internship for later in your studies.

The evening activities will start with a collective dinner. Afterwards, you will have a ‘borrel’ (drinks) with your fellow study association members. Here, you will get to know your study association and its bar better.

Tuesday August 25th

Tuesday morning is a great moment to meet your department, the curriculum, and arrange everything necessary to get started properly! Moreover, at the Master Challenge you will be introduced to Challenge-Based Learning (CBL). The day will conclude with fun activities and a dinner at your study association, followed by a pub crawl called Eindhoven by Night.

Wednesday August 26th

On Wednesday, you start with a tournament against other faculties. Compete alongside people from your own faculty against others in various games and claim the throne! Lastly, you will get a ticket for the Vibes Festival! This is together with the participants of the Bachelor Intro week and other students from all over Eindhoven; from Fontys, Summa, Sint Lucas, and De Rooi Pannen! Entry for the festival is included in your Master Kick-Off registration.

Master Challenge

On Tuesday, you’ll take part in the Master Challenge: an introduction to Challenge Based Learning (CBL), where you work in small interdisciplinary teams on real-life challenges from companies and societal partners.

After lunch, the challenge providers will briefly present their topics. You’ll then get to work with your team, composed of fellow students from different programs, on the challenge you selected and therefore suits your interests and background. There are around 20-25 challenges, grouped into 5-6 themes.

You’ll have time to explore ideas and develop a first proposal, which you’ll present on a poster. Each provider selects a winning team, and those teams pitch again during the Brabant Innovation Ecosystem Market (B.I.E.M.), where you can also connect with other providers, student teams, and ºÚÁϸ£ÀûÍø innovation Space. The challenge ends with an award ceremony, after which you will have dinner and fun activities at your study association.
